Today, millions of people make the commute from the bedroom down the hall to the home office. The stress of traffic is gone, yet the stress of balancing work and home is real. There are no hard and fast rules about working from home. While this can be a good thing, it can also be a bad thing. If you are struggling, don't worry!  1. Create Morning Rituals

It's tempting to sleep until the world needs you, yet rolling from your bed to your desk is not a habit that will make you feel happy! 

On the other hand, morning rituals can create a sense of balance. It's choosing to do something VS having to do something. It's time for you! 

Before Work Ritual Ideas!

  • Make your bed
  • Meditate
  • Listen to a favorite podcast
  • Write in a gratitude journal
  • Listen to music
  • Feed the birds
  • Make a cup of tea
  • Practice breathing exercises
  • Take a walk
  • Do Yoga
  • Shower and put on fresh clothes

 

2. Reward Rituals 

Work 60 Minutes - Then take a break! 

Daily breaks are vital to happiness and productivity. A study by the University of Illinois found that taking a 10-minute break every hour can vastly improve our ability to focus.  

 

Here are some ideas to get you started!

First, set an hourly alarm to practice a 10-minute reward ritual! 

  • Walk barefoot in the grass.
  • Listen or read a chapter in a book
  • Sit in the sun, close your eyes, and breathe  
  • Watch a funny video
  • Make popcorn 
  • Turn up the music and dance
  • Practice 10 minutes of yoga stretches
  • Smell the roses
  • Eat a piece of chocolate mindfully

3. Create a Mindful Tea Ritual

3. At the end of your day to recharge!
