How it's made!

Organic Jasmine Extra Special is among the highest grades for green jasmine teas. The steeped tea has a golden-to- bright-yellow liquor. The floral aroma is layered and lingering with a soft, full-bodied flavor and a sweet crisp finish. The art of creating this stunning organic scented tea is a tradition that dates back to the Ming dynasty. 

Fresh jasmine flower buds are picked at mid-day when the buds are closed. Layers of flower buds and green tea leaves are assembled in cool warehouses. As the jasmine buds cool the leaves begin to blossom, delicately scenting the sweet green tea leaves. The flower and tea scenting process is repeated five times. True Jasmine tea is never flavored but scented!

 

Jasmine Tea and Stress Relief

The scent of Jasmine flowers may relieve physical and mental stress. Jasmine’s anti-depressant properties and glorious scent are an excellent natural sedative.  

A study from the University of the Ruhr, in Bochum, Germany, and a recent study in 2019 confirm that the scent of Jasmine flowers may be very effective as a mood enhancer.  

 

"Instead of a sleeping pill or a mood enhancer, a nose full of jasmine from Gardenia jasminoides could also help, according to researchers in Germany. They have discovered that the two fragrances Vertacetal-coeur (VC) and the chemical variation (PI24513) have the same molecular mechanism of action and are as strong as the commonly prescribed barbiturates or propofol. They soothe, relieve anxiety and promote sleep."

 

The scent of Jasmine positively and directly impacts a brain/central nervous system chemical known as GABA. The result is the calming of the central nervous system. In the study, GABA increased more than five times when exposed to jasmine fragrance. Jasmine was proven to be more effective than anti-anxiety meds and sleeping pills in promoting quality sleep. One study indicated that the disbursement of jasmine fragrance into a roomful of sleeping test subjects noticeably led to less tossing and turning and heightened sleep efficiency, even without additional sleep time.

 

Hot or Cold It's Simple to Make!

 Making Jasmine or any green tea is easy with a few simple tips!

  1. Start with fresh, clean cold, and filtered water! Your tea will only be as good as your water so start with the best!

  2. Add 1 tsp. of tea to a filter. Add the filter to your cup. Add hot (never boiling) water!  Steep for 3-4 minutes! 

  3. You don't have a fancy kettle with temperature control. Simply bring your fresh, clean filtered water to a boil and let it cool for about 3-4 minutes. The temperature will be perfect for green tea!
  4. You can dunk your tea filter yet don't squeeze.  Squeezing the filter will make the tea bitter. 

  5. Never throw out your tea filter, just add more water for a second or third infusion!
